Ah, Pride Month, the month of rainbow logos and rainbow cakes. This is a month that was first recognized in 1994, by a group of education-based organizations in the United States. The US federal government first recognized the month in 1999 when president Bill Clinton declared it "Gay and Lesbian Pride Month". It has since became generally more inclusive of people with different gender identities as well. The month is also designated in part to the Stonewall Riots taking place in June.
In the past several years, corporations in the West have generally embraced Pride Month by doing things such as changing their logos, running campaigns, and donating to charity. It's been shown widely that gay people tend to earn more money and owe less, making them a great source of income. In 2019 The Washington Post had a survey done where they found that 76 percent of respondents said that companies that support LGBTQ equality will get more of their business this year
